Overview
Vickery Digital LLC ("Vickery Digital," "we," "our," or "us") builds iOS mobile applications. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.
This policy applies to all Vickery Digital apps unless a per-app policy at vickerydigital.com/privacy/[appname] states otherwise. The per-app policy governs for that specific app.
By using any Vickery Digital app, you agree to this policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use and request deletion of your account.
Data We Collect
Account Information
When you create an account, we collect:
- Email address (used for authentication and transactional notifications)
- Name (optional, used for personalization if you choose to provide it)
- Apple or Google account identifier (when you use Sign in with Apple or Sign in with Google)
We do not collect or store your Apple or Google account password. Authentication tokens are managed by Clerk, our identity provider. See Section 5 for Clerk's data practices.
User-Generated Content
The content you create in the app is stored on our servers to enable sync and backup. Your content is associated with your account and is not shared with other users unless you explicitly use a sharing feature.
Device and Technical Information
When you use our apps, we automatically collect:
- Device type, operating system version, and app version (for crash reporting and compatibility)
- Crash reports and error logs including stack traces (via Sentry)
- Push notification token (used solely to deliver notifications you have opted into)
We do not collect precise GPS location, contacts, or microphone/camera data unless an app feature explicitly requires it and you grant the relevant iOS permission.
Subscription and Purchase Information
If you purchase a subscription or in-app purchase, Apple processes the transaction. We receive from Apple: subscription status, original purchase date and renewal date, and a subscription identifier. This data is managed through RevenueCat. We never receive or store your payment card number, Apple ID password, or billing address.
Analytics
We collect limited usage analytics to understand how features are used and to improve the app. This data is aggregated and not used to build individual profiles. We do not use third-party advertising networks or behavioral tracking. Our apps do not display ads. We do not sell your data to advertisers or data brokers.
How We Use Your Data
- Core functionality — Providing and operating the app and its features
- Communications — Sending you notifications you have opted into
- Debugging — Identifying and fixing crashes, errors, and performance problems
- Subscription management — Tracking whether your subscription is active to unlock paid features
- Product improvement — Understanding which features are used so we can improve the product
- Legal compliance — Complying with applicable laws and Apple's App Store guidelines
We do not use your data for advertising targeting, sale to third parties, or any purpose not described in this policy.
Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account:
- Your account and associated data are deleted from our primary database within 30 days
- Crash reports and error logs in Sentry are retained for 90 days per Sentry's free tier limits, then automatically deleted
- Anonymized, aggregated analytics data may be retained indefinitely
- Backups may retain data for up to 90 days before being purged
You may request deletion of your account and data at any time. See Section 7 for how to do this.
Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services to operate our apps. Each service receives only the data necessary for its function.
Manages user accounts and authentication. Receives your email address and handles Apple/Google OAuth tokens. SOC 2 Type II certified.
Receives crash reports and error logs including device type, OS version, app version, and stack traces. Does not receive your account content or personal information beyond what appears in error context.
Manages subscription state and in-app purchase validation. Receives your app user identifier and subscription status. Does not receive payment information.
Stores files and photos you upload to the app. Files are stored in encrypted cloud storage and are accessible only to your account. (Applicable only to apps with file or photo upload features.)
Processes all App Store payments and in-app purchases under Apple's own privacy policy.
Data Security
- All data in transit is encrypted using HTTPS/TLS
- Database connections use encrypted channels
- Authentication tokens are short-lived and rotated automatically
- API endpoints require authentication before accessing any user data
- Each app uses an isolated database — data from one app is never accessible to another
No system is perfectly secure. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately at the address in Section 11.
Your Rights & Account Deletion
How to Delete Your Account
You can delete your account directly within the app:
Account deletion removes your profile, all content, and all associated data from our systems within 30 days. If you experience any issue with in-app deletion, you may also submit a deletion request by email to the address in Section 11.
Children's Privacy
Our apps are not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
California & International Users
California Residents (CCPA)
California residents have the right to know what personal information we collect, request deletion of that information, and opt out of the sale of personal information. We do not sell personal information. To exercise your rights, contact us at the address below.
European Users (GDPR)
If you are located in the European Economic Area, our legal basis for processing your data is the performance of our contract with you (providing the app service) and our legitimate interests in operating a secure, functional service. You have rights to access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection. To exercise these rights, contact us below.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date at the top of this document. For material changes, we will provide notice within the app. Continued use of our apps after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
